Social networks ,embracing the globe, are playing a revolutionary role in todays people's life. A simple web application, can change life! A web application is a data base disk. It is an application which resides on a server, but meant for use by humans, which uses web pages as the presentation layer. . A web service is a online service, as in Verizon online service,Or a web site service that you went to own or rent. Web applications are completed user interfaces, while web services are more intended to be application components or "libraries" which can be used by other applications. A web service is more organized than a web application, because it is accessed by a web application at the end, which is non human. You tube,Face Book and Blogger are three famous applications available on web. Face Bokk is a social networking service to connect people all over the world using individual profiles or pages. Blogger is a blog publishing service, which hosts many blogs owned by groups or individuals. Thirdly, You tube is a a video sharing web site where the users can upload, view and share the videos.
The world famous social network, face book was founded by,Mark Zuckerberg and was launched as a website in February 2004. Initially it was limited to harvard students, but once launched as a web site is available to any one over 13. Face book is ranked as the most used social network service. As at today over 800 millions of people are on face book.Founded in 2005,you tube is owned by a Californis based company and introduced a new design in 2010. It is ranked as the third most visited web site on internet. Recently,You tube integrated with Google+. Blogger was launched in August 23rd 1999,which was brought by Google in 2003. Then,a part of Blogger was redesigned in 2010.
from the social point of view, social networks are having strengths as well as weaknesses. considering the face book,it is the second most visited web site in the world. It allows people in the world to share the information with a strong real world network orientation. Clean lay out is another strength of Face Book which provides a very user friendly interface. Facebook does have advantages for doing civic work (discussing issues, organizing events, collaborating to address problems). Nowadays, it is definitely smart to use Facebook to communicate and organize. With the introduction of the notifications to mobile, Face Book has space to market your products and allows to try third party applications, which are already tried by your friends, creating a perfect viral distribution channel for sellers. But the security weaknesses are the main threat for face book users. And it is found that over millions over under age users are having face book accounts. On the other hand.about the product advertising, face book information is often unreliable. taking You tube in to account, YouTube Partners own the copyrights & distribution rights to all of their own uploaded videos without exception. If you upload a video and are not a partner, YouTube has the right to manage and disseminate that video within youtube.com as they see fit. And, At the same time,it provides a quick streaming. You tube is a very simple web site with a high content availability. Another benefit of using Youtube is that ability to broadcast to an audience of millions. Youtube is available in nearly every country in the world, and any computer that has internet access, and is visited each day by millions of people. But the you tube is often subjected to criticism and some of the countries have blocked you tube due to the offensive videos on the website. Education authorities in some regions have blocked student access to YouTube, with some state education departments in Australia citing the inability to determine what sort of video material might be accessed. Blogger is a part of the Google,so the web site will not go down easily. And it hosts the blogs for no money, absolutely free. And it is of course very user friendly.Strict control of posts and the less flexibility are some disadvantages of the Blogger. For example, you cannot put more than 50 posts a day.
Nowadays social media products are imposing huge impact on social life. Misrepresentation is one of the so called threats. Electronic relationships make it easy for "friends" to misrepresent themselves—always showing their best side. Harassment like cyber bullying are increased through the use of socail networks. Addiction to social networks are wasting the time and reduces the quality of life. On the other hand, social networks can create huge messes in the world by misrepresenting facts, because there are so many people of all ages are on these networks. Nowadays social networks have made people robotic and have taken away the time available for people to interact with their family, nature and friends in a real world. The virtualisation has driven people robotic.
Teens who use Facebook more often show more narcissistic tendencies while young adults who have a strong Facebook presence show more signs of other psychological disorders, including antisocial behaviors, mania and aggressive tendencies. Daily overuse of media and technology has a negative effect on the health of all children, preteens and teenagers by making them more prone to anxiety, depression, and other psychological disorders, as well as by making them more susceptible to future health problems.
Usage of social networks are inclusive. Even though some networks like face Book are trying to restrict the internet users below 13,it is proven ineffective in practice. Even though the social networks are often used by the Young generation, now it is often accessed by adults as well. Nowadays, many adults are likely to have a Face Book account. Many professionals are also having social network accounts, and they are willing to communicate through them. But the usage of social networks among adults is comparatively very low. Accessibility to social networks are restricted in many countries, where as China, the country having the largest population in the world have blocked, you tube. In developing countries, social networks are not very effective in communication, due to the lack of IT infrastructure.
Social networking sites such as Facebook have now become a ubiquitous part of many students' lives. The value of social networking has been defined, in one sense, as the collective power of community to help inform perspectives that would not be unilaterally formed - e.g. the best thinking comes from many not one. Others argue that significant time spent on social networking platforms actually distract students from their studies. So a question emerges, could the introduction of social networking tools be useful in a formal classroom setting? Additionally, is the concept of social networking a progressive, but legitimate, form of student-to-student and student-to-teacher collaboration?
The computer mediate communication have restructured the functioning of communication among organizations today. The virtual office is the best example to show the the revolution structure of organizations through communications. Organizations no more have physical assets, but they are complete functioning dynamic entities, connecting each other via C2C communication methods.
